Today, via Twitter, Jay Wilson announced that he will be leaving Blizzard at the end of the week. While he’s been a controversial figure within the Diablo community since the launch of the game, it is hard to dispute the foundation that he laid for how the game came to shape up as the patches went on. After helming Diablo III through its launch and many patches he left Team 3 to work on an undisclosed game. What it is he spent the last few years working on is still unknown, but he is leaving the gaming industry completely as he goes back to working on his original passion, writing.
We here at Blizzpro wish Jay the best of luck on his future endeavors and thank him for the work he did in developing the game we all love.
Sad to say after 10 of the best years of my life this will be my last week at Blizzard, and in the games industry.
