Ars Arcanum: Crashing Rain

by - 9 years ago

Books have often been society’s only bastion of light for passing along knowledge that would otherwise be lost to time or convoluted by the oral tradition. In order to provide new and old adventurers with as much knowledge of what to expect on their journey in Sanctuary, we created this tome of knowledge – Ars Arcanum. We will regularly feature a Legendary weapon or armor piece, discussing its stand-alone powers and capabilities, as well as how it may synergize with new builds or other items.

This week we will be taking a look at Crashing Rain, a Demon Hunter belt that synergizes with Rain of Vengeance. This item was added in patch 2.2.0 to compliment the re-worked Natalya’s set that focuses on using RoV as your main damage source. Ever since it was added, it has been the BiS belt for DH’s who chose to use Natalya’s.

Crashing Rain

Why is it good?

Crashing Rain has great synergy with Natalya’s since the set focuses on RoV. It increases the potential damage output of RoV by summoning a crashing beast that does 3000-4000% weapon damage. That’s an insane amount of damage when paired with the 4 and 6 set bonuses of Nat’s, since they both focus on really buffing your damage output. This combo also gives you some much appreciated single target damage against those pesky Rift Guardians if you can learn to cycle your abilities to take advantage of the 5 second buff you get with the 6 set bonus, which is great for higher grifts.

Overall it’s a fun build and a change of pace from the DH meta when it was all about the Marauders set. I mean, if you use Strafe with Nat’s it pretty much turns you into a whirlwind DH so that’s cool right?

Who is it good for?

While this is a belt and can be equipped by any class, it’s unique affix only benefits Demon Hunters.

Where can I find it?

This isn’t a season exclusive item so you can find it on any mode as long as you have a level 31 character or above.

The Fluff

When it rains, it crashes.

This doesn’t have any lore significance but it is pretty punny, I see what you did there Blizzard.
