For all that is good, build yourself into a warrior worthy of Pandemonium!

Hello and welcome to this second edition of Horadrim Corner. I am Threedaysjpt, here to show off weekly builds to help get you kickstart your Diablo grind.

Have you ever just wanted to take things easy in your trek across Sanctuary and slow things down? Or have you ever wanted to take that one step further and just let everything freeze? Well, this is the build for you. Here is the Frozen Time Wizard, a popular new support build made possible by Patch 2.2.0 that offers great utility and crowd control for the whole party. Utilizing the new Slow Time set, this is becoming popular in Greater Rift groups in place of the famous ZDPS Witch Doctor.

This build will employ the use of many new items, and is mostly easy to gear for, given that it uses many Bounty Cache items and only a partial Delsere’s set. Without further ado, here it is:

Wizard Skills

Actives

Magic Missile – Glacial Spike: This is needed to reduce the cooldown of Slow Time with the 2-piece set bonus of Delsere’s. Also, using this with Mirror Ball will allow for more Freeze across the battlefield.
Blizzard – Frozen Solid: This rune gives your Blizzard a 100% chance to Freeze, stopping all actions by enemies and providing a small area of constant crowd control.
Slow Time – Time Shell: The main source of power in this build. Using this skill with the Crown of the Primus allows Slow Time to have every rune at once. This creates an 80% slow on any enemy caught in the bubble, along with stuns at the edge of the bubble, and increasing damage and survivability for your teammates.
Teleport – Fracture: This summons mirror images upon arrival, taunting enemies and creating a good distraction for you and your fellows.
Magic Weapon – Deflection: Using this rune creates a shield with every use of Magic Missile, further providing more defense.  *Note* Black Hole or Energy Twister used in conjunction with Ranslor’s Folly as a way to pull enemies to a centralized location may also be used here instead of Magic Weapon.
Ice Armor – Crystallize: This helps make up for the Armor deficiency from being an Intelligence based class.

Passives

Blur: Having a 17% damage reduction is essential for playing support.
Dominance: This passive creates a large stacking shield as long as your teammates are killing mobs. This may also be replaced with Illusionist for escapability.
Unstable Anomaly: The Wizard’s cheat death passive. This is far more noticeable than most of the others due to its activiation sending out a large purple wave.
Cold Blooded: With the Freezing and Chilling that the build provides, this gives your whole party a 10% Damage boost.

Stats Preferences

Intelligence > Vitality > Armor > All Resistance > Life Per Second> Strength/Dexterity > Life % > Cooldown Reduction

Since this is a support build, your primary focus will be around defensive affixes. Also, since the Wizard is an Intelligence class, Armor is high priority to build your defense. Strength and Dexterity can be used to help make up for the lack of Armor. Cooldown Reduction helps keep Slow Time available more often, which means more bubbles and it also makes Black Hole more usable.

Items

Core:
Delsere’s Magnum Opus: The main set. Only three pieces are needed for this with the Ring of Royal Grandeur being used and the 6-piece bonus is unnecessary in a support build.
Illusory Boots: Allowing you to become virtually a ghost, you can use this for getting to the middle of it all or running through a horde of enemies to escape.
Crown of the Primus: Giving every rune to Slow Time helps in nearly every aspect of this build’s goals.
Ring of Royal Grandeur: Needed in order to wear the two sets required for the build.
Oculus Ring : Another damage increase for your entire team. Read more about this in Leviathan’s Ars Arcanum article.
Eun-Jang-Do
: A new, frosty little dagger that seems to be a favorite to equip on Followers. This will Freeze anything below a certain life percentage (<20%) practically permanently.
Overwhelming Desire
With this you have just another source of CC, but also increase your team’s DPS. You may also use any defensive amulet in its place, such as an Eye of Etlitch or Countess Julia’s Cameo.
Ancient Parthan Defenders: A fantastic, forgotten item that can be a huge boost to your your survival in large groups, these can also be replaced with Ranslor’s Folly if using Energy Twister. For the bracers slot, make sure there is a Cold Damage % among the affixes. This causes your Slow Time to deal cold damage and Chill the enemies.

Legendary Gems:
Iceblink:
The chill created by this gem allows the Cold Blooded passive to have an effect on all enemies. A Gem of Efficacious Toxin may be substituted here depending on party needs.
Molten Wildebeest’s Gizzard and Esoteric Alteration:
The standard defensive gems. These will help in any situation.

Each week, we will be featuring a different build for a different class, rotating through to spread the love around.
