Recapping The Second Tavern Talk

by - 9 years ago

Earlier today, Community Manager Nevalistis managed to wrangle Senior Technical Game Designer Wyatt Cheng, Game Designer Travis Day, and Associate Game Designer Don Vu for a sit-down conversation going over Season One results as well as expectations for Season Two and beyond. This was the second Tavern Talk, with the first taking place shortly before the beginning of Season One way back on August 21st, 2014. Today’s event followed a similar format to the previous one with Nevalistis leading a discussion among the developers through her own questions and then pulling community questions until the end of the stream.

The developers spoke candidly about their intent behind some of the choices in Season One, touching on both the length of the season and the drop in of Patch 2.1.2 right before the end. They also interspersed coming attractions to look forward to in Season Two and then used the community questions to speak in more broad terms about changes coming to the game via class sets and item (re)designs as well as possible changes to features like the blood shard cap, crafting materials, and on.

The entire talk is worth a listen (perhaps as background while you grind out the wait for Season Two starting this Friday) and the past broadcast can be found here on Diablo’s Twitch Page.
