Patch 2.1.2 Won’t Hit Until After Holidays

The Play Your Way Thursday live stream went on today while our own Neinball got a chance to play with the winner Abachio, community manager Nevalistis, and associate game designer John Yang.
During the stream, the news was broke that we would not see Patch 2.1.2 until sometime after the holidays. John Yang stated ideally they would have liked to have had the patch out this week, but it’s not a good idea to release something before the Christmas break in case something goes wrong as they would be a bit understaffed with employees taking vacation to be with their families over the holidays.
As a player, I’m sure there will be some disappoint that we’ll have to wait even longer for season 2 to begin.
As a fellow developer myself, I can really appreciate the fact that Blizzard isn’t willing to push to something out the door and put extra stress on their employees. I know I’ve worked for companies in the past that will release whenever they feel like it and usually at the worst times, such as Friday before the weekend or before a major holiday. It really sucks when something goes wrong and you have to come in during the time off that you would like to have spent with your family. It’s actually really nice to work for a company that understands that and will release early in the week so if something goes wrong, it’s scheduled during your normal work hours.
Nevalistis did say that there will be some messaging coming out soon that will better detail when the patch is to hit and what is expected to go into the patch.
