Streamer Spotlight: Blitzballer

by - 10 years ago

Diablo 3 is played by a huge variety of people around the world. Some might play it once a week, some might play it several hours a day, and others might even make part of their living playing the game. You can found a great sample of size at Twitch.TV, where you can find several people streaming this game we love everyday. On Twitch you can find Diablo pros, funny personalities, and even people who are just learning the game. Streamer Spotlight is here to share the stories of some those interesting players.

Welcome back to Streamer Spotlight! In this third edition we will be joined by Blitzballer2201 a dedicated Demon Hunter player that you might have not heard about. Blitz is a Paragon 600+ player who also plays a little Monk. Today we get to know him a little bit better, and maybe you will find a new favorite Dexterity-class Streamer.

Blitz

DR23: Hey Blitz, welcome to BlizzPro! Lets start with a little information about you, where are you from, how old are you, how long have you been playing/streaming Diablo. What motivated you to start.

BB: Greetings Dannie, and thanks for having me. Im from the US/Michigan, im 22 years old, and I have been playing Diablo 3 since the release. As far as streaming I have been streaming on and off for about a year, and my Youtube channel is a few months old. What motivated me to start would be the grinding play style of the game, before Diablo 3 I was playing World Of Warcraft and I loved the sense of character progression. So when I looked into what Diablo 3 was about I just had to check it out!

DR23: Did you by any chance get D3 thanks to that Annual Pass promotion? What did you think about that promotion, and would you like to see it return in some fashion?

BB: I did not participate in the annual pass promotion. But I do like the idea or that, I feel it brings more people to try the game out and it would bring more dedicated players into Diablo 3.

DR23: Well, lets direct this topic back to your D3 Stream. How often can we see you streaming? And what’s your stream all about? Are you heavily into Seasons, trying to get a high ranking on leaderboards? Or are you doing more farming, playing with your viewers, and just having a good time?

BB:You can see me streaming a few times a week, Also I try to post videos on my Youtube channel as much as possible. My stream is focused mainly around the Demon Hunter, but recently I picked up the Monk and its been a blast so You will probably see Monk game play as well. I do not play seasons right now, I focus on climbing the leader boards for Greater Rifts in Non-Seasons on Demon Hunter and Monk. I farm with my viewers quite a bit and I hope to be a useful source of information about Demon Hunters, Monks, and Diablo 3 in general.

DR23: Of all of the D3 Streamers in Twitch, why should people watch you? What makes your stream special and great?

BB: Well I try to be entertaining as much as possible, but the main reason why I feel that people should watch me is that I know alot about Demon Hunters. I try to contribute alot of guides and builds on my Youtube channel and try to help the Demon Hunter community by being a resource of information. Also I feel like I do a good job at viewer interaction and I will try to answer anyone questions on my Live stream or my Youtube channel.

DR23: Every great name has an origin, where does the Blitzballer Moniker come from?
BB: it’s funny that you ask that. When I used to play World of Warcraft I was in a raiding guild. The main paladin of the guilds name was Blitzballer. I just liked it so I guess you could say I stole his name lol.

DR23: Lol, looks like the Thieves Guild would welcome you with open arms. Anyway, patch 2.1 has reinvigorated this game, my d3 friendlist used to be a deserted area but it is now filled with people trying to get the most out of the new content. Why do you think 2.1 has been such a hit with the player base?

BB: Competition! A sense of competition drives people to play games. That feeling were you accomplish something that you have been wanting to do, also seeing your progress and climbing the leader boards can be fun and rewarding. Also the Greater Rift system is great because the content will always be challenging.

DR23: Which class do you main? which spec are you using and why? Is there any builds out there you think would be cool to use but just aren’t viable in the high end of progression?

BB: I main Demon Hunter and I alt Monk. For my Demon Hunter I use a Rocket Frost/Fire hybrid spec because it has great potential in the high end of progression. When looking at builds that have fun game mechanics, I would love to see a strafe build come into play for high greater rift progression. It would give players a break from the Sentry Meta and would be fast paced.

DR23: What motivated you to focus on the Dexterity-based classes?

BB: I just like the game style of dexterity classes. I like fast paced gameplay and these classes seem to provide that.

DR23: Are you interested in the game’s lore? Or are you just there to crush those demonic pixels? In any case, what’s your favorite part of the story?

BB: Never really been interested in lore in any game actually. I guess you could say I’m just in it because I like the game!

DR23: What’s your favorite D3 Follower in terms of Skills and Stats? What about their Dialogs and Personality?

BB: has to be the Templar. He is extremely helpful when running high torment or high Greater Rifts. The extra heal you can get you out of weird situations.

DR23: You weren’t kidding when you said you weren’t a lore guy huh? How about your streaming schedule, when can we expect to see you online?

BB: I stream part time, I really don’t have a schedule. I tend to stream in the morning on weekdays tho. When my community grows I will probably make more time for streaming.

DR23: Besides streaming, what do you do?

BB: Besides streaming I work on my Youtube channel alot, also I work in IT so working on computers is a passion.

DR23: So you told us that you used to play Warcraft, but do you play any other Blizzard Games, past or present? Where you big into D2?

BB: I have played other Blizzard games in the past, A lot of World of Warcraft, and Hearthstone, I tried Starcraft but I’m horrible at RTS. I do plan on picking up Warlords of Draenor and playing that casually. Diablo 3 was the first Diablo game I have played.

DR23: What are your plans for the future? Any future releases you are looking for?

BB: My plans for the future would be to keep streaming and producing Youtube videos. Hopefully seeing more people interested in my content and build some sort of a community with my viewers.
All I really play are Blizzard games so any Blizzard release in the future I’m always willing to try.

DR23: Do you think Blizzard will release another expansion for Diablo 3? If that were to be the case, what would you like to see on it?

BB: I do believe that they will release another expansion for Diablo 3, I would like to see more build variation in the classes, also more endgame progression. I would like competition to be more skill/gear focused and less RNG focused as well.

DR23: I agree 100%, the RNG factor seems to weigh-in way too heavily, from monster density, to monster type, to floor layout, and DAT conduit. Diablo can feel a little like this.

conduit

BB: Lol!

DR23: Well man, thanks for your time. Keep up the good work both on the stream, and the Youtube video. Maybe we can feature one of your builds on the Hellforge later.

BB: Sure thing man! Thanks for having me.
