The Infernal Machine event was introduced in Patch 1.0.5, and it’s an end game quest. In this event, you are tasked with defeating dangerous monsters known as the Keywardens and obtain their respective keys. With these Keys you will be able to craft powerful portal devices known as the Infernal Machines.

Take the Infernal Machines  to the Heretic’s abode on New Tristam and you will be able to travel into special dungeon areas where super powered versions of certain quest bosses, must be defeated. These powered-up foes are known as Ubers, and your rewards from defeating them is a chance to acquire a Demonic Organ. These Demonic Organs will in turn be used to craft the Hellfire Ring, and the Hellfire Amulet.

The Hellfire Amulet in particular is a pretty powerful item, as it will grant you a Fifth Passive Skill. And if you wanted to get one, now is as good a time as ever, since Blizzard has increased the droprates of all Demonic Organs.

How to get the Keys

Odeg the Keywarden in Act I – Fields of Misery, drops the Key of Bones.

Sokahr the Keywarden in Act II – Dahlgur Oasis, drops the Key of Gluttony

Xah’Rith the Keywarden in Act III’s Stonefort, drops the Key of War.

Nekarat the Keywardenin in Act IV’s Silver Spire Level 1, drops the the Key of Evil

How to get the Organs

The Infernal Machine of Bones leads you to the Realm of Discord, where you will fight Uber Leoric and Uber Maghda. Leoric’s Regret is the Demonic Organ that might drop here.

The Infernal Machine of Gluttony leads you to the Realm of Chaos, where you will fight Uber Rakanoth and Uber Ghom. Vial of Putridness is the Demonic Organ that might drop here.

The Infernal Machine of War leads you to the Realm of Turmoil, where you will fight Uber Siegebreaker and Uber Zoltan Kulle. Idol of Terror is the Demonic Organ that might drop here.

The Infernal Machine of Evil leads you to the Realm of Fright, where you will fight Uber Diablo, who summons random Ubers. Heart of Evil is the Demonic Organ that might drop here.

How to get the Recipes

The recipes from the Infernal Machines will drop from the Keywardens, so you shouldn’t worry about it. The Recipes for the Hellfire Jewelry are sold by Squirt, on Act 2’s Hidden Camp.

Now that you have all the tools at your disposal, you will be able to complete the Infernal Machine event!
