Patch 2.0.5 Known Issues, FAQs, and Bug Work Arounds

by - 10 years ago

As with any patch there are always a number of issues that pop up along with the update.

First off, there are massive numbers of reports of the game crashing upon entering Rifts or changing maps. There is a workaround that seems to solve the issue for some players, but many are still left unable to run Rifts at the moment.

Hi Everyone,

We currently have an issue that may cause some players to crash when entering a Nephalem Rift or changing areas. We are currently working on a potential fix for this, but in the meantime we have a workaround that may help.

  • Open your Options menu (press esc).
  • Locate the Speaker Setup menu under Sound options.
  • Select “Stereo” in the dropdown and hit Accept.

Following these steps may help reduce the frequency at which this occurs while we are working on getting a fix deployed.

Your patience is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Due to the large number of changes CM Grimiku also took to the forums to post a brief FAQ to address some popular questions and concerns.

These are some good questions that are being asked in multiple places, so I’m happy to answer them and help clear up any confusion.

Is the fix to +% damage retroactive?

Yes, this change was retroactive, and fixed existing items.

So caches have torment only items in them or not?

Horadric Caches obtained in Torment I+ have a chance to drop Torment restricted items.

Can I revert my class specific set items mogrification?

There is still a bug with transmogrifying class specific set items, but it has a fix on the way. We don’t have an ETA to share yet, though.

Buying from Kadala on torment 6 reaps higher rewards now?

Actually, it does not. Kadala’s chance to reward you with a Legendary item is static, and does not change based on difficulty.

In addition to those issues addressed above you can check below for all the currently known issues with patch 2.0.5.

Hello everyone, and welcome to Patch 2.0.5! Below you will find the Known Issues list for our 2.0.5 patch. Please do not report bugs that you see on this list, as we already know about them, and help out other players reporting bugs by referring them to this list.

As a reminder, this list will not list every bug that is active in the 2.0.5 patch. What it is listed here are a select few issues — chosen due to visibility and impact — that are active and confirmed as bugs by Quality Assurance with verifiable steps and (in most cases) an expected fix. Just because a bug is not on this list does not mean we don’t know about it! In addition, potential exploits and the like will never be listed here.

Please note that documented bugs may not always be fixed in the order in which they were reported. In some cases, we may not have a timeline for a when a bug will be fixed and some bugs may not be able to be fixed at all. If we are able to verify that a documented bug cannot be fixed, it will be removed from this list.

Thank you for your continued reports, and enjoy Diablo III!!!

Achievements

  • It is currently extremely difficult to destroy the Demon Gates before Demon Troopers spawn during the Azmodan Encounter, which is preventing completion of the “No Reinforcements” achievement.

Items

  • Crafted legendary set items can currently draw from a list of incorrect and non-class-specific affixes when being enchanted at the Mystic.

  • Manipulating your inventory or changing worlds can cause the spirit counter on the Monkey King’s 4 piece set bonus to reset.

  • Torment-only class-specific sets currently cannot have their looks reverted to their original appearance after being transmogrified to look like a different item.

Windows

  • The game may occasionally crash after a play session lasting longer than an hour and a half

Finally, Blizzard will be taking the Diablo III servers down tomorrow morning for an additional round of maintenance and will likely address some of the game crippling bugs that have popped up, such as the game crashing issue and hopefully some of the long running lag issues that have been plaguing players.

We will be performing maintenance beginning on Wednesday, May 14th at 10:00 AM PDT and we expect the service to be available again at approximately 11:00 AM PDT. During this time the game and many web services will be unavailable.

Thank you for your patience.
