Sony recently sat down with some members of the Diablo III development team, namely Production Manager John Hight, Lead Console Designer Josh Mosqueira and Senior System Designer Jason Bender and discussed the upcoming console port of Diablo III in a Conversations with the Creators video. In it, the trio discussed a number of different topics including why the title was selected to be ported, how the PlayStation 4 controller will influence the gameplay and the challenges of streamlining the experience without dumbing it down. Hight made a point in the interview to discuss the fact that the ‘architecture of the PlayStation 4’ should make it easier for game developers such as Blizzard to get games out more speedily, and into the hands of gamers. While it’s speculation, could Hight be hinting that Blizzard is looking to create more regular offerings for the next generation console? With the PlayStation 4 due to launch at the end of this year, we’ll have answers on that front soon enough.
